I went on the ticket to work SSDI program years ago with opening my own home care agency. I put all of my savings into it. After 3 years, I began to be attacked by the SSDI office in Lansing, MI. They accused me of practicing medicine which put my license in jeopardy, and also of fraud. I have filed reconsiderations and have the certified mail receipts to prove it, but they deny receiving any such forms.
I had to contact my Senator's office to prevent my license from being destroyed by them. I am so disabled I cannot even begin to practice medicine. I only do the payroll and invoices from my home computer in my business, and hire RN, LPN and schedulers to manage all the office work.
But the SSDI woman claims that I manage my business, even if I do not make a profit, and that is SGA no matter what. She also claims I rigged my P/L monthly sheets, (I kept copies of everything), and she handwrote numbers in her filings that do not match what I sent her.
They claim my overpayment is at least 40,000 dollars and may be as high as 90,000 dollars
I cannot find a lawyer in Lansing, MI to take my case when I appear before the ALJ in March, 2011.
I will lose everything if I owe this money, and possibly, my medical license. My 80 year old mother will surely die, (she lives with me in a condo), when I have to sell my condo and see if I have enough money to live in a rented apt.
I do not understand why SSDI is so cruel and can get away with this; and there is no legal recourse.
I can only take the Fentanyl route out if they win so my mom has something to live on.
EVERYONE OUT THERE do not ever taket the Ticket to Work program, it is only a scam by the government to take your money and kick you off SSDI permamently; they even are taking my Medicare away.
So, DO NOT even consider the Ticket to work program, it is literally driving me to suicide to provide for my mom.
